DO I HAVE TO PROCESS MY RECORDS?
If you have registered cows, use a service sire program or if you are genetically testing your cows then, yes, you are required to process your records. Please note that some service sire programs do not require official records processing, check with your semen sales representative. If you do not fall in to one of those three categories you do not have to process your records.
HOW ACCURATE ARE MY MILK PREGNANCY RESULTS?
Milk pregnancy testing is 98% accurate compared to blood at 99%. This is a highly accurate test comparable to palpating or ultrasound testing your cows. The Alertys Milk Pregnancy Test used by our lab reports sensitivity at 98.8% and specificity at 97.4%.
HOW CAN MY MILK TEST RESULTS HELP ME MANAGE MASTITIS MY COWS?
Our job is to provide you, your veterinarian, and your nutritionist accurate data to help you better manage mastitis in your cows. You will receive a hot sheet from our lab that lists hot cows adversely affecting your bulk tank. They are listed in order of Somatic Cell Score starting with the highest score and shows what your bulk tank average will be if that cow is culled. There are also many other management reports provided by your records processing company to help you better manage mastitis. Please contact us for more information on those reports.
